What cartoon was the best when you were a kid?
By - Boat3000
Everything about the Batman suit was just awesome for my 9 year old brain
plus a super badass intro song
Oh - Ee- A!
Rocky and Bullwinkle
motherfuckin ducktales, yo
90s X-Men cartoon.
Batman: The animated series.
The theme song plays rent-free in my head
There was a next level Reddit post of someone playing it with all the instruments that was fucking amazing
The original Teen Titans
Yeah the other one can just Go.
Alright… I’ll see myself out
The new season was good too.
It was a long scroll to find this response but I knew it would be here. Great cartoon.
I was surprised nobody else posted this! Guess we're just old lol
The Flintstones, Gigantor the Space Age Robot, Magilla Gorilla, Underdog, Woody Woodpecker
Finally someone with some damn class.
Golden age of cartoon network
OMELET DU FROMAGE!
“Hellooooo dear brother, what have you got there?!”
Nothing! Nothing! You only see air!
Tom & Jerry
Being a kid in late Soviet Union I had two 3hour VHS cassettes with earliest Tom and Jerry. Up to this day when I hear some classical tune I first recall the T&J episode and only then proper name and composer.
As a kid, you root for Jerry. As you get older, you understand Tom.
I always rooted for Tom, though.
Same. I feel the game was rigged from the start, Jerry would always won at the end.
Plus I like those rare episodes that both become allies.
Teen Titans, Billy and Mandy, Justice League Unlimited, Avatar the Last Airbender, and Samurai Jack are my childhood top 5, but 6 and 7 are still perfect in my book
Animaniacs and Tiny Toons.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles!
No joke - I have the theme song on my iTunes.
Dark wing duck
Lets get dangerous.
I watched it again a while ago, still a pretty good cartoon.
Anything Keith David does is automatically awesome
The Jackie Chan Adventures
“One more thing…”
BAD DAY BAD DAY BAD DAY!
yu mo gwai gui fai di zao
Whattt? In our country (Philippines), the dub goes "gomo gokyo panchitaw"
Scooby Doo was so based that Simple Plan made one of their theme songs
Tell me you're a 90s kid without telling me you're a 90s kid
Scooby Doo will forever be in my top 5. The first few movies are amazing
Zombie island and those straight to VHS movies
Witches Ghost had the Hex Girls 😍
Zombie island and the ghoul school; I've probably watched them 100 times 😂 awesome movies
Ed edd and eddy
My very favourite for a decent chunk of my youth
It was great
Adventure time... Wasn't really a kid though, but still.
Courage the Cowardly Dog
Hands down best show out there
I loved it. This was the only show that managed to scare me when I was a child.
Rocko's Modern Life. Like most Nick cartoons it still holds up and is fun to watch as an adult for all the adult jokes that flew over your head at the time. Ren and Stimpy as well.
Where can you watch it currently?
Torrented it all in like 2013, just checked and it's still available on a certain seafaring site.
spear and magic helmet?!?
“Oh, Bwunhilde, you’re so wuvwy!
Yes, I know it,I can’t help it.
Oh, Bwunhilde, beee my wuuuuv!”
Kinda gets ya, right there, doesn’t it? 🤪
Still hold up to this day
Anything with bugs and daffy were great and roadrunner
My brother and I wanted a fighter jet that dropped a motorcycle out of it so bad.
Invader Zim was my JAM
We got all the DVDs for our son, but really they were for us. My husband did some vfx work for Nickelodeon and met Jhonen Vasquez one day.
Phineas & Ferb was a lot of fun and Scooby Doo can’t be beat
The Bugs bunny/roadrunner hour on Saturday mornings .
Elmer Fudd, Wylie Coyote, Yosemite Sam, Tweety bird, Foghorn Leghorn......
The Pink panther
Tom and jerry! Goddamn I loved that show. And looney toons. I was born in 1990 so I can just list off a ton of great cartoons.
ahhh real monsters
Woah forgot about to that show. back when Nick was good
Garfield and Friends!
A lot of us became Garfield
Hates Monday, eats lasagne and pizza whenever possible, dislikes most humans ... check!!
Why does Garfield hate Mondays? He doesn’t even have a job!
Because when John is working there's nobody to keep Odie entertained?
The Smurfs and Thundercats
I was a big Rocket Power guy
We are riders on a mission!

This should be top comment
It was a hard toss up between Hey Arnold or Angry Beavers.
Both classics Arnold over Angry Beavers for me
grimm adventures of billy and mandy
Jane definitely influenced my taste in women when I was in middle school
Static shock. Such an underrated show.
Garfield and friends.
Every Thursday I would stay the night at my grandparents. Friday mornings I would wake up to the sound of my grandparents having orange juice in their room, talking about their day/life/etc, and just enjoy those moments to themselves before starting their routines. I would listen to their chatter and smile to how happy they sounded, until the news was almost over and tip-toe downstairs to make my cereal. I would go into the living room and grandpa would always be waiting for me to watch Garfield and Friends. That was our time 🥲 I miss that man so much.
Edit: today would’ve been grandpas birthday. I just had some FaceTime with grandma. Grandpa was notorious for eating off peoples plates. Eat slow? He’d help you catch up. Go to bathroom? He would finish the last bite you were saving. So today she went to the cemetery and sang happy birthday to him in the rain….and then went to Big Boy to have his favorite ice cream sundae. She left him the last few bites as those were really his favorite. ❤️😭
He-man, Voltron and Thundercats HOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Scooby doo, where are you?
Edit: autocorrect tried to ho me.
G.I. Joe was addicting, and later on Batman the Animated Series was intense and awesome.
Batman: The animated series
A kid from pallet town, with a brand new world to see
Don’t know what’s ahead but it won’t get the best of me
It’s still a bop that I can recite word for word.
SpongeBob was great (and still is). And I absolutely loved Penguins of Madagascar because, well, it had cool, funny penguins.
Penguins was on when I was a little older but I totally remember it
I started watching the show in 2nd or 3rd grade. I went through a penguin obsession phase as a kid. For a while, I tried to figure out how to convince my mom that we needed to get one as a pet. Or, ideally, several.
Avatar: the Last Airbender.
Okay I got to agree that was a good one
Dextors laboratory, Powerpuff girls, older SpongeBob (Krusty crab PIZZA is the Pizza YEA YEA FOR YOU AND....MEEEEEEEEEE)
Kim possible was always solid. Fairly odd parents.
Ren and Stimpy
My brother is almost 8 years older than me, but we bonded so hard over Ren and Stimpy. He was my idol and to be able to quote a random, weird cartoon meant the world to my 8 year old self. That show will always hold a special place in my heart
Powdered Toast Mannnnnnnnnn!!!
Happy, happy, joy, joy!!
POWDER TOAST MAAANNN!!!!!!
Lol my Mom hated it
What rolls down stairs, alone or in pairs, rolls over your neighbor's dog?
Kablam on Nickelodeon, it had a bunch of shorts like promethius and Bob, action team now, etc
Prometheus and Bob is hilarious and brilliant.
Someone uploaded a compilation on YouTube and I watched it fairly recently. It still cracks me up!
Meltman with the power to melt
STINKY DIVER, With an attitude as bad as his odor!
THUNDER GIRL! FLYING LIKE THUNDER! WHILE OTHERS MUST WONDER.. WHAT IT’S LIKE TO BE ME!!!!!!!!!!!
90s Spider-man and tmnt
I used to watch the really old Popeyes, the ones from the 30's and 40's. Great to watch when you're stoned.
Silver-hawks, he-man, thundercats
I loved it and still do
Ren and Stimpy.
Pretty sure that show made me the Chihuahua lover that I am today.
I also got Ren and Stimpy's portraits tattooed on my calves.
Bugs Bunny, for sure.
Baby looney tunes was the only bugs I didn't like
Beavis & Butthead
X-Men animated series was pretty awesome
Original Ben 10 will always be a banger.
Spongebob, Thomas the tank engine, Johnny bravo
Meanwhile at the Legion of Doom.
He-man! And She-ra.
Maybe not the best, but VERY underrated in my book:
Garfield And Friends. I learned to appreciate sarcasm at a young age.
I loved X-Men every Saturday morning.
Avatar the Last Airbender
Codename: Kids Next Door
Cow & Chicken
Ren & Stimpy
Guess my age.
>Guess my age.
Dungeons and Dragons
Rocky the Flying Squirrel.
Tom and jerry the very best
The Pirates of Dark Water. Its ambition was its downfall, but it started so strong that I don't even care that it wasn't finished. I might have to go back and watch it again now.
The original Care Bears, Jem & the Holograms, Gravedale High
Rugrats all day.
The 90's had the best cartoons man. I mean, the 2010's had some bangers too, but the 90's simply had way more that were hits. Rugrats, Doug, Hey Arnold, Cat Dog, Tiny Toons, Freakazoid, Duck Tales, Ren and Stimpy, Rockos Modern Life, Batman, Beavis and Butt Head, King of the Hill, Futurama, the Critic, The Tick, Spiderman, Cow and Chicken, Two Stupid Dogs, Power Puff girls, Dexter's Lab, Arthur, Angry Beavers, Daria, Johnny Bravo, South Park, Ed Edd n Eddy, Courage the Cowardly Dog, Home Movies, Sponge Bob, Family Guy, Rocket Power, Kablaam, AHHH Real Monsters, Beetlejuice, Bobby's World, Busy World/Busy Town, Captain Planet, Fairly Odd Parents, Chalk Zone, Xmen and so many more i can't think of.
The 80's had some great stuff too, but man, the 90's beats it. The 80's has the classic movies though because late 90's movies were mostly terrible and not in a watchable way even though some great stuff came out like the Matrix. But cartoons were great all through out the decade.
cartoons are just great though. i loved watching the boomerang channel. i remember when it was just a segment on cartoon network on the weekend and i loved it then too. and before adult swim was a thing, i think they would air Flintstones and the Jetsons all night. I loved that too. All that stuff is so dated yet it still holds up.
Megas XLR was pretty good
Scooby Doo. How did they always get the bad guy?
Not necessarily a cartoon but Dragon Ball Z.
Every day you’d watch the newest episode after school and then next morning everyone was talking about it in class. I loved that show as a kid and still do. I especially like the Abridged series lol.
How many DBZ characters does it take to screw in a lightbulb?
Just one, but it takes three episodes.
And Killin dies in the process.
Dexter’s Lab was my favorite growing up
The Pink Panther was my favorite on those days.. 😂
And Ron Stoppable! And Senior Senor. God I miss that. I had a Kim Possible bobblehead, even.
The wild thornberry’s
Rugrats (& the rugrats all grown up)
My life as a teenage robot
The fairly odd parents
Battle of the Planets.
Phineas and ferb and Johnny test were the shit
Man and machine, power extreme!!
the 2009 beyblade
Roger Ramjet, George of the Jungle, Super Chicken, Tom Slick
I liked Dexter and the Simpsons
Naruto for sure - Me and my childhood friends would learn signs for different jutsus and run around like goofballs
Teddy Ruxpin and My Pet Monster were pretty good.
