Where is the tribe of Quraysh ? Do they even exist anymore ? how come that we suddenly stopped hearing anything about them ? Aren’t they supposed to be the most powerful and influential Arab tribe and the rightful rulers of the entirety of the Arabian peninsula ?

Lot's of people claimed descent from them, such as the Fatimids (descended from Fatima), Abbasids (claimed descent from Abbas, I believe is Muhammad saw's uncle.) and the Hashemites (royal family of Jordan) too. I don't think anybody takes their name anymore but there are people who descend from them.

The Quraysh weren't a tribe, they were a confederation *of* closely related tribes, those same tribes still exist today.

Berserk123

People who claim descent from the Quraysh Tribe still exist. However, specifically the clans that made up the Quraysh for sure exist. For example, Banu al-Harist, Banu 'Amir, Banu 'Adi, Banu Taim, Banu Sahm, Banu Jumah, Banu Makhzum, Banu Zuhrah, Banu Abdu Dar, Banu Abdu Shams, Banu Naufal, Banu Hashim, Banu Muthalib, and Banu Asad. All of these exist or at the very least people still claim descent from these clans. We stopped hearing about the Quraysh because after Islam became prominent and after the rule of the Rashidun Caliphs, who were all Quraysh, and the Umayyads and Abassids, the mantle of the Islamic rulership shifted to the Turkic Empires. A modern clan of Quraysh that seems to be prominent today are the Hashmites of Jordan who were the former rulers of the Hejaz and other Hashmite rulers of Morroco and Brunei. And no the Quraysh are not the rightful rulers of the Arabian Peninsula. The Quraysh were mainly in the Hejaz region and most specifically ruled Mecca as that is where they were established by Qusayy ibn Kilab.

Bro what I did to you

shahdp2

They are everywhere. Just not every one of them likes to use their full last name. People mostly use their sub-tribe or clan name as their last name.

Can someone disprove this? This seems to be a very obscure theory...

I’ve seen this perpetuated by Christian YouTubers, it comes from ignoring many facts and historical records. This guy here claims Mecca was supposed to be an ~~“ancient civilization”but nobody ever said Mecca was ancient.~~ (this is my bad I meant the part about “the birthplace of civilization”). I don’t remember any Hadith or verse saying Mecca is the birthplace of civilization. About his “water” part, before the zamzam well they managed to get water by leaving stones out and then in the morning they get the dew off of them. And before you tell me it’s bs tell me how other civilizations managed to live in the deserts like the people in southern Algeria or Western Sahara. Obviously now since millions of people go there they have to pump in water. And for Hadith there is complicated Hadith science and very rigid ways to confirm if a Hadith is sahih or not. That is a long and very detailed topic so do your own research on that.

Yes he did built it there. Medina was an oasis nearby where most people lived. And Mecca was more of a pilgrimage hub than an full blown civilization. And there are pre Islamic artifacts found there and in nearby places in Hejaz. And there is evidence they existed before Islam considering trade routes from the Red Sea https://smarthistory.org/pre-islamic-arabia/

Interesting though. Look like a conspiracy theory but still interesting
