Funnily enough I was saying this exact thing to my boyfriend earlier.
It might sound daft but the Alfa groups are the only groups where it isn’t assumed that the entire audience is male. As a woman, you notice the “hey fellas/chaps/lads” intros to posts, and the rank comments when women post themselves with their cars “hurrrrrrrr nice curves hrrrrrrr and the car” etc.
That just doesn’t seem to happen in the Alfa groups. The worst I’ve found so far is the Aston Martin owners groups. Full of aging pale male stale boomers. Doesn’t stop me loving my Aston, but the community around Alfa is just so much more pleasant as a woman. (Abarth is pretty good too!)
i noticed when I got my Mito that often Alfas coming the other way will do the little hand wave over the wheel. I guess it's more common in alfas as you can see one coming a long way off and are quite rare
Same here but with the blinkers. I get the blinker salute each time i see another Alfa. Specially Giulietta. It really boosts my mood significantly and i dont know why.
I don't think this happened. And it astonishes me that you would link moral behaviour with the love for a particular car brand. As if a person driving a Kia wouldn't help others.
And also, why were you only worried about the Alfa driver? That's borderline psychopathic.
Alfa drivers stopping for or saluting another Alfa drivers are much common than you think. I lived in Southeast Asia and while Alfa is no longer common these days, this "tradition" have been done since the 70s.
It did happen yesterday and i did check on the Renault driver first. Didn’t mention it on the Alfa subreddit. The crash involved 2 cars that got their front bumpers fucked up and both drivers were on the side of the road unscaved.
The entire moral of this is how Alfa drivers usually stop and help eachother on the spot. But ofcourse you had to blow this way out of proportion. Typical reddit moment.
Fuck off with your dumb predictions next time you want to play sherlock holmes.
But that's the thing. This is not something Alfa drivers do. Plenty of people do. Regardless of what car they drive.
Besides, where do you even live that you see so many Alfa Romeos drive around that five would stop shortly after an accident?
1: who said “shortly” nobody knows how long those people have been there. I live in Istanbul and Alfas are loved and common
2: yea they do. 9 years in this community and i have seen plenty of cases where Alfa drivers stop for eachother or even salute with blinkers.
Ofcourse people stop and help regardless of the brand. Nobody said “i stopped because it was an alfa. The rest can suck my dick”.
It really was nice to see a lot of us trying to help people in one place. You are still digging because of your little skeptic episode. Take it or leave it. I will not sit around trying to prove you anything.
Listen to yourself. All Alfas stopped, guarded the Alfista victim and then formed a convoy on the way out. My God, dude. You can't be serious with this nonsense. You just drive a particular brand of car. So do I. Doesn't make us better than other people.
Listen to yourself. Nobody said “guarded” it has been your exxagerative narrative because you have nothing else to do at your free time. This is your favorite thing. Taking things up the ass and converting them into your own understanding.
There was an accident, it involved an alfa, lots of people stopped and there were mainly alfas. This is literally it. If you are a fucking dumbass who still insists on not understanding what is what, that is your problem. It’s friday, get off the internet, touch grass and socialize, you anti-social dimwit.
Dude, it's Saturday. I guess we know what mental state you're in. What you claimed happened clearly didn't. You have a very romanticized version of a car accident. Someone probably did stop. That person may or may not have had an Alfa. What didn't happen is that he stopped because he had an Alfa.
You're also literally posting in this very thread, replying to me in under a minute and you're saying I'm on the internet too much. You're such a bullshit person lol.
You know nothing about me. You're making a lot of assumptions about me, because I questioned the veracity of your story and pointed out the moral implications. It's one ad hominem attack after another. Yet you started this thread to prove you're a great person, because you drive an Alfa Romeo. I wonder what job you have.
I think this comment demonstrates that you’re too stupid to Internet properly. I’m struggling to see how you can’t understand that there’s a community like this. It’s similar to the one that Jeep built with their “Jeep Wave” and the community that follows it. Like I don’t know man, maybe you’re the one that doesn’t belong here.
Of course you can build communities. I don't dispute that. But stopping after a car accident is not really about a community, but rather about making sure your fellow human being is okay. Which OP didn't do btw. He specifically said he wanted to make sure the Alfa driver was okay. How insane is that? That you're only concerned about your fellow man, because he drives a particular car brand, but that you don't care about another because he doesn't?
I'm simply pointing out what OP said.
If it doesn't strike you as strange that you would only help people when they have a certain product, I can't help you.
Think it through. Is that what Alfisti want to be? Persons who only help other persons if they drive an Alfa? Is that what this community is?
I get that he's proud. I absolutely adore my Alfa too. And I think it's awesome there are people who feel the same. But come on, this dude's post was ridiculous.
“As if a person driving a Kia wouldn’t help others…”
Have you ever met someone that drove a Kia? Almost always no insurance, so if they hit you, they’re running. Credit score so low it’s not even a good batting average. They’re also the definition of regular traffic, they won’t stop to see if everything is okay, but they will slow down to 15mph on the interstate to observe what happened, causing traffic jams and more potential accidents.
Fuck Kia drivers.
This is exactly what bothers me about this post. How can you derive moral superiority from driving a particular car brand? That's like saying all Pepsi drinkers are bad people. It's absurd. By the way in a lot of countries, I believe in all of Europe, insurance is mandatory. I used to drive a Skoda Fabia, because it was a decent enough car for my budget. When I had the money I bought a Stelvio. It didn't change my personality. I just have a way nicer car now.
Well here in the states insurance is required *almost* everywhere, but typically Kia/Hyundai/Nissan drivers will opt for PLPD, which only covers liability. Which means, in a “no fault” state, each party has to use their own insurance in an accident. And PLPD will not cover damage done to a personal vehicle. However, if a person with PLPD crashes into a parked car, then the PLPD will cover the liability of damages for that parked car. This would only be in the event that the person with PLPD leaves their insurance information, which they wouldn’t, because if you have PLPD then you likely bought it because full coverage is too expensive, and leaving your insurance for the other person to file a claim through may (and likely will) result in higher monthly premiums.
I see what you’re getting at. There shouldn’t be blanket statements to cover an entire populous of drivers in specific make vehicles. But god damn do I see them prove their blanket statements day in and day out, lol. We also have running jokes about nissan/KMG drivers, and that’ll never change. Just like how Californians hate truck drivers.
If you’re concerned about any of this, I suggest you turn off your smartphone and touch some grass. You’re the reason the world is becoming softer.
Nah, I'm not concerned about jokes. I make them all the time. Obviously I joke about at least having emotions as opposed to people who drive German cars. But I really hate it when people claim character traits based on stuff they have. It happens all the time. And it really bothers me when said stuff is a luxury item such as an Alfa Romeo. Because it implies you're a good person because you have money.

Allow me to introduce you to the Miata community. It helps that the general public think the Miata is a feminine car in the first place
You know what, I’ve never owned an MX5. I really should!
Alfa brothers

Are you still here with your bullshit? Go cry in a corner. You live a sad life my guy.

Obviously they were alright if they were standing and talking. You’re clearly a troll or someone that has to think to breathe.

Reread what he said. It’s not that hard. If this bothers you or you don’t understand then why are you even on this subreddit?
I don’t think you’re a good fit for this sub
Is it because I see people driving Renaults as human beings too?
Haha - no, you’re just shitting on this dude for feeling a sense of community
I get that he's proud. I absolutely adore my Alfa too. And I think it's awesome there are people who feel the same. But come on, this dude's post was ridiculous.

I guess you aren't the nice person you pretended to be. Funny, because you drive an Alfa.
