I will always happily add my voice to this complaint.
Like, TD, just retcon her name. It's fine. I'd rather have a retcon in a game where characters often have their names misspelled anyways, than a character with a name this close to foreskin.
I know TD doesn't speak English natively, and the translation has been of beyond dubious quality, but dang, someone should have caught this and said it was a bad idea.
First i couldn't stop reading it as Foreskin. Then - probably because i was coming from Foreskin - i legit thought it was pronounced Four-suh-kin for the longest time, only recently realizing it's a misspelled "Forsaken."
Yeah, exactly this. Speed reading as a technique kind of blurs the middle of words and let's knowledge of what you're reading and contextual clues to read the words properly. For-Kin versus For-Ken, if that makes sense. Though, when things are related enough, like names and simple actions (like reading the word 'said' in a story) the mind tends to gloss over them anyway, so in truth when I'm actually reading my fastest, I don't even register her name.
Its a mashup of two words. 'Forsaken' means abandoned or deserted, 'Kin' refers to family or related people.
It makes sense given her backstory, just unfortunate that the word bears more than a passing resemblance to a certain flap of skin.
1. it's normal to misread things because they're similarly spelt...
2. not everyone is aware of this reference
why dont you just take it down a notch, smart guy
Whether it's normal or not, I think it depends on how often you misread that word.
I can understand people misreading forsakin once or twice, but several times is not normal.
it's reflex. you see something that appears alphabetically similar to 'foreskin', then you'll be reading it as so. especially since the latter has humorous context and thus, much easier for the brain to remember

Same ☠️
I made your like to reach 69. So nice.
So it's not just me...
It's burned into my head. I been calling it foreskin for the longest time -_-
Forsakin, the Forsaken Foreskin
Headcanon confirmed.
Cut away from the main body at a young age and left to rot.
Yeah I literally do this everytime. You are not alone my friend.
Great now I can't read it normally anymore
Wait, her name isn't Foreskin?!?1 What else are you going to say? That Charon is not best girl or what?
Takes best man to be best girl.
I read her name just fine myelf. I purposefully call her that and the other guy Fitzgerald in my head as a way of belittling them
Oh god i am not alone, Ditto
Well I’m glad I’m not the only one who has done this
Then you're doing it right. That's all she deserves anyway.
Foreskin and Fitzgerald are burned into my memory
wait his name isn't fitzgerald?
No it's actually pedo-uncle, but that's just me.
I cannot stop reading it like that as well. I actually just gave up and she's simply Foreskin to me

Also her real name is Denier? And decided to go with Foreskin? What? Denier would make way more sense as the name chosen once joining Eclipse.

I don't think it's spelt wrong, they just merged Forsaken and the word Kin. I think it makes sense because the Eclipse people are her kin.
I don't know how that flew past the localization team.
Their localization team is one guy in a basement feeding the script through Google translate.
I assume this is what happens when people don't have experience playing games that haven't used Forsaken as a verb or noun
Also the fact it's spelt forsakin and not forsaken. S[]kin vs sake-n.

I can't understand how people can misread that.
because what kind of name is Forsakin!!!!!

Foreskin*
Who would call themselves "foreskin" tho?
nobody?
PRECISELY. It makes no sense to read it as foreskin when it's written with a first capital letter and in reference to a character.

Eloquently put, friend.
bruh same here.
I think they should change it to Forsakan. Or Farsaken. Fersakin. Something else.
And like it doesn't help like how it looks like there's cum all over her hair-
Welcome to the club, kid!
