Uhh... was that the end of the game? It looked like the end of a play, the announcers we're saying 1st down. So... did that guy break the TV before anyone could see how it ended?
It showed the play along the sideline too. Not the middle of the field where Zac was on the last play. Weird
Its the play when deebo samuel ran the ball and everyone thought it was a first down. They end up remeasuring and made it short a couple inches.
That’s what makes it strange, game wasn’t over.
At that moment it looked over. The guy just jumped the gun. Im a niner fan and i thought that game was over too. In real time it looked like he had the first down.
Lol good thing this dude didn’t get to see the draw up the middle with no timeouts left, he might’ve put a child through the tv
Anyone who knows cowboys football knew the game was already over before the first snap.
It was 23-7. Cowboys we’re actually making a comeback later in the game and buddy just gave up on the game. He would of still punched it based on the ending of the game but still. He gave up way too early
It wasn’t😂😂 Dallas still lost but they had another chance after this play happened. They ended up losing the game in even more hilariously bad fashion than what this guy punched his TV over.
What a jackass
What's funny is he looks older than me, and I remember when slapping the TV for most reasons was kinda normalized.
Do you remember the part where you slap the side of the tv and not the screen?
TVs ain’t got no sides Lt Dan!
They’s so thin you could cut your hand clean off!
Well, back when the sides were wide enough to be slapped, the screen was a thick glass and could also take a lickin’
I used to bounce marbles off my TV as a kid; They'd bounce crazy far!
My parents didn't seem to find it as entertaining as I did.
I definitely remember playing catch with myself off the tv screen
I rammed a big Trinitron CRT TV with a forklift once and it barely scratched the glass. I dropped it into a dumpster from as high as the forks would go and it smashed the housing and the electronics but still didn't break the tube. Those things were pretty tough.
Lol, you’d shatter your hand before you ever came close to hurting the TV. Those things are indestructible.
I remember my TV fell forward on top of my N64 and both things continued to work. If I dropped a modern tv onto a ps5 at least one of those things would split in half down the middle
Every modern flat panel TV I've ever bought had a big obvious "screen is weak and fragile, don't touch it, don't breathe on it, don't yell at it" warning on it. I'd imagine it would crack the moment it hit the ps5, and the ps5 would somehow turn itself on and immediately overheat because fucking sony decided to cut corners on thermals this generation.
I once dropped a 22" old school CRT down a small flight of concrete stairs on it's screen.
It fucking bounced.
Or you could try managing your reactions to a televised sporting event...
It was to fix static and shit on the screen, not slapping the tv out of anger lol
Mom, upstairs: "stop hitting the tv!"
Tbh the screens used to be way more sturdy glass too.
I wouldn't go punching one hard but a slap wouldn't do anything.
Not making excuses for the guy though. He's obviously an idiot.
You’d break your hand punching a an old CRT
When the tube on my old monitor started going out when I was in high school I couldn't afford to buy another right then and there but I found out if you hit it, the tube would work right for a while. The trick is to hammer fist the top; the front is far tougher than mere human flesh and bone lol.
Lol the side had the thinner plastic, so when you slapped it it would jostle around whatever electronic shit inside was causing the screen to have static. Slapping the thick ass screen wouldnt do anything but hurt your hand
I remember the tv being so thick it actually hurts my hand from hitting it
There would he a lot more broken hands and a lot less broken TVs if they were still around
A nice little dink as the fist hits the glass of an old 32'' Sanyo, followed by an *owww*
Bro that wasn't a slap; that was a straight up punch. I'd be willing to bet there are a few holes in that guy's drywall.
As well as his relationships
it fixed the TV half the time.
Yep, back in the day my family had a big old boxy tv that you kind of HAD to smack every so often. (You know the kind- it had it’s own wooden cabinet, weighed a ton and had bunny ears that worked better with a bent wire coat hanger attached. I’m feeling old right now.. ngl)
Lol the old wooden cabinet tv 😂 had one of those when I was young
Yes the big bodies!
I remember a friend got one of those for his finished basement. Took 4 of us to manhandle that thing down the steps without killing ourselves. Never again lol.
Epitome of a man child. Basically like 50% of NFL fans
When I was a kid my Dad hit the TV all the time to get it to work!
So this is the average Dallas Cowboys fan. And its the hilarious time of year since they have regularly been been eliminated from the playoffs for the past 25 years
well... he does say "they fuck it up everytime, I'm sick of y'all" so yano... I think he's familiar with that history lol.
Everytime the Cowboys lose, a TV gets it's wings.
the circle of life.
Fast-forward 6 months: "tHiS iS oUr YeAr!!"
Lather, rinse, repeat
He probably says that while he's at costco getting that year's TV.
> that year’s TV
Huh, yknow this suddenly makes sense to me why people go fucking nuts trying to get tvs on Black Friday
"Oh boy I can't wait to haymaker this toshiba over some millionaires"
Jokes on you, many of those years we didn't even make playoffs.
And in 6 months will be on every social media shrieking like a banshee “this is our year!”
Almost like there are 32 teams
That better be his tv
I doubt it. You can hear someone say “get out this mother fucking house” right after it happens.
The fact that people get this burnt up over people that will never care about them still boggles my mind. I gdt sports are fun to watch and yeah it's a bummer to see a team you're interested in not get as far as you hoped but to have a episode over it...just infantile mentality to the extreme.
Note: I'm talking about the guy who busted up the TV not the bro telling him to gtfo.
Now he’s on the Lamb, like Mcarthy after his latest meltdown!
That’s his wife.
Def was not a female voice. Probably two different people telling him
That’s his husband
Don’t tell her that!
Big guy in red jacket at the end doesn't look amused indeed.
I heard some "this ain't yo house" and "get outta this house now!" and maybe one or two other insults in there, I'm guessing he just broke someone else's stuff.
It is now.
If that’s my house, you break it you bought it. Expect my invoice on 1-3 business days.
This is pathetic.
Right...its just a game dude, stop wracking 50 inch tv because of it.
Reminds me of a high school trip back in '08. We were on a train heading from Florida to Washington DC. The Superbowl was on, and one of my friends was sitting beside a stranger watching the game on his portable TV. She was cheering on her favorite team, but when they lost, she flipped out, grabbed the guy's TV and smashed it on the ground. Our teachers were mortified and placed her on lockdown. They apologized profusely to the guy and tried to make amends, but he laughed it off and said it was fine. Apparently he admired her passion for her team and spunk. Good guy, playing it cool in front of us all like that.
fuckin simpin before it was cool
When you just lost a few thousand bucks on a dumb bet cause you thought it was a sure thing, someone else’s tv seems inconsequential.
Rule 1: don’t gamble what you aren’t willing to lose.
“Bet with your head, not over it.”
So many times at the casino I've heard... "I need to win to make rent" .... bro, you losing twice and you can't figure it out!!!
Now you owe the bet plus a new TV.
I thought you meant the rhythm game OSU and I was so confused. Hahaha
Same! I don't even play the game, but by the time I got to the bottom of the first paragraph this man had me sold on having an OSU party.
I assumed this was the case. I went to oregon state, if we left halfway through losses we’d never see the end of a game
Yet sports fans are the cool normies and every other hobby is the nerdy losers.
Every hobby has these shitty people
Don't believe him? Get on League of Legends and ask for help understanding the game
Do you live in a teen movie from the 80s?
I can send you at least a dozen clips of twitch streamers getting triggered and breaking their keyboards lol
Atleast they are actually playing the game they are frustrated with
Are you high lol
I cringe so hard every time someone types the word normie.
Y e s I forgot this sub existed
This is why I miss old box tvs. You try that shit with one of those and it's your hand that's gonna be broken while the TV will end up with a clearer image.
I always thought if you punch those and break through the glass you'd get fucking electrocuted and die 😂
I remember as a kid believing someone who told me your insides would get sucked out.
Well they used vacuum tubes, so it makes sense
Wow older technology is fascinating
Yeah that's why they had to stop making them
I've bounced a hammer off of one. The glass used for the sides is thinner, but that front glass is thicc.
I had an absolutely massive CRTV that was so big, it fucking had *handles* on the sides, and it took two stout men to even lift it to shuffle it across the room.
When I got rid of it, I took it to my work to dispose of it. One of the employees shot at the center of the glass with a .22
It glanced off. Didn't break it.
You would, the problem is breaking through the glass. a 27 inch CRT tv has a glass screen almost an inch thick. You can literally bounce a pickaxe off that.
That's what you call a man child who can't control their emotions
Yup. Lots of "big, tough" dudes out here who never learned how to deal with their emotions because it fit the part to be a fucking asshole
I call them sports fans.
Sports are le bad amirite
It just a smaller percentage of sports fans. You'll see more videos of sports fans going insane because it is so popular
Like Phillys fans, where they will burn the city even if they win or lose.
We don’t burn the city we just climb the greased up light poles
This is why we love you.
I actively cheer against every LA team. They win some shit goes down, but if they lose everybody goes home because they are too important for sports.
You've clearly never been around sports fans or watch sports yourself. This represents a small minority of people, there are idiots in every hobby and activity.
Isn't "rage quit" a term from nerdy gamers?
what a bizarre generalisation to make. On the internet you can see endless videos of people smashing controllers when losing games; I've seen fights at gigs because people argued about favourite bands... Shit... A sizeable amount of dudes think that "honour" is a thing to get violent over.
The problem is how many men think that exerting violence is an acceptable way to display passion/gain control over a situation.
I think it's honestly an issue of people making the thing they're all about their entire identity. When it gets disagreed with or beaten in a competitive context, they can't handle the blow to the thing they're so attached to. In some cases it can be funny, but in others, it's honestly sad to see.
It’s just an edgelord that thinks they are better than sports
i call people who make comments like this anime fans
I call people who make comments like this
He looks like a well adjusted individual
Agreed. Much respected man in his community I'm sure of it.
Here is a man I would cut out of my life before he even closed the door. What an asshole
First get him to pay for the TV, them cut him out right after.
What are the odds you're getting your money from someone so petulant that they'd do this in the first place...
I would either get the money or they're going to pay in other ways. I am not above getting a lawyer for small claims court and making sure it costs them more than it costs me even if I lose (which I wouldn't with this video). I can also tell you from experience that, in my state, you can absolutely include the lawyer and court fees in the damages you are suing for.
Well then you don't need the person in your life anymore. I took it to mean, 'coerce payment as a "friend" then cut ties'
Oh absolutely. I'd give them a full 24 hours to pay before I filed my small claims case. We're on the same page with cutting ties, I'm just the type of person that when I've made that decision I'm already planning what I have to do to deal with any conflict that arose due to it. Breaking or stealing my shit is also one of the things that is going to trigger me going into "no pitty" mode and not be patient about payment.
Haha someone just lost their house at the bookies. Clown
Its just a fucking game people idk how people get so crazy about football or any sport for that matter. You’re not playing.
My ex's dad wasn't even allowed to watch football if anyone else was home because he couldn't handle it. He'd turn bright red and scream at the TV like it killed his dog, throw shit, scream at the other people in the room, and eventually storm out and let it ruin the rest of his day. Didn't even matter what teams were playing. He didn't even have a favorite team.
So did anyone ever tell him that one team has to lose each time or was he just mad no matter what?
Yeah, how did he choose which team to get mad at? Was he betting on one of the teams?
It was actually usually the refs that he was screaming at. Or the coaches for their decision making. Or anyone black celebrating too much, because, you know.
Good lord, what an insufferable asshole. That reminds me of dogs that growl at their own tail.
Now he has to buy a TV and pay the bet.
Plot twist: he bet someone the TV
And hang the new TV on the wall, that's the biggest hassle.
Don’t get me wrong, I love sports. There’s nothing like going to a stadium filled with people, yelling at the top of your lungs for three hours, having some beer and hot dogs, and chatting with your friends. It’s therapeutic.
Difference is after, win or lose, I’m like “that was fun” and go home. I’ve never gotten into any fights or broken anything.
Imagine they were this passionate about something that mattered?
Tribalism in a nut shell
Those people are the worst and shouldn't be invited to anything
Unpopular opinion but does this also applies to gamers destroying their controllers? I was baffled to find out a friend of mine has over 6 controllers for the same device because he's bad at fighting games.
Yeah, one time I was in an Xbox party with a friend who happened to be a hot head. He literally sent me a video of him full force throwing his headset across his room and it exploding into shrapnel. Sends me a second picture of what was left of it sitting on his bed
Was this the OG xbox or 360 era?
Xbox 1 playing Crsed f.o.a.d. like 3 weeks ago
Damn, that sucks. That's $60 down the drain.
He said it was his shitty headset but its still hard to find a very cheap one for under 15 bucks, I just bought a pair of cheap ass skull candy earbuds and along as your not ragging with a pair of scissors they'll last a long while
More so these days, game controllers are a lot more expensive than they used be. Along with that it's harder to find name brand controllers.
Less to do with price and more with being destructive/not handling emotions like a well adjusted adult.
I just dont understand the mindset of destroying your things over a game.
Fucking baffles me.
It definitely does, but at least with gamers their actions had something to do with the outcome. I find it absolutely ridiculous how people like this get so worked up about something that they aren’t even involved with. If his preferred team would have won he’d been talking it up like he was on the field. It is so silly.
Yes it does but it can be understandable like losing a $100k tourney because you or your teammates did something stupid or whatever. You see athletes break their shit all the time, look at hockey and the players smashing their sticks and trying to break them when they are mad. That's just one example of a professional organization that does it yet you don't really see it talked about too much. I've seen players completely obliterate their sticks over getting a penalty that was clearly a penalty and that doesn't get talked about either.
Edit: some gamer tournaments can be worth millions too and when money is involved, people will do anything including breaking shit when they lose
Mad cuz bad
That's not an unpopular opinion at all. I wouldn't accept damaging anything during a tantrum from my 4yo, let alone anyone older than a preschooler.
How much you wanna bet that dude isn’t even a friend of anyone except for that one really drunk dude in the back?
No control over his emotions, won’t be going far in life
Somebody owes someone a new tv, what a man child.
lol what's funny is that they reviewed the play, overturned the call, and the niners didn't even end up getting the first down on that play 😂
I will never in my life understand being this emotionally attached to sports. You aren't playing. You aren't winning or losing, you are just arbitrarily picking a side to vicariously feel victory or loss with. So to get so upset that you have to physically lash out at something over a loss that you never had \*any\* influence over.... it just boggles my mind.
A child has more anger management than this guy
As a Niners fan I'll never get tired seeing these videos lmao
as a rams fan....... how do you feel about next week's game?
Typical cowboys fan
Came here to say the same. Fuck the Cowboys
True my team got dog walked the patriots I didn’t get this mad
Looks like could have got his own new TV instead of flushing his monies at bookies :(
HOW BOUT DEM COWBOYS.
People who take tv sports this seriously are hilariously toxic.
Abrubt sign of a permanent insanity
Lol cowboys suck
This is why I sometimes have a negative notion of sports. Bc of idiots like him. Control your fucking self
these are the kind of guys that call me childish for liking anime and games
Must be nice to have that disposable income.
Over a first down wow .. wonder what he does when his team loses
Proceeds to return the TV to Wal-Mart
Cowboys fans in a nutshell
Don't gamble what you can't afford to lose folks.
He may not have gambled, but I mean that's solid advice anyway
And that includes the side bet on the durability of a big-screen LCD.
People get worked up over adults playing for a living.
I'm confused as to why people get do upset about a sport on TV. It literally does not impact your life, so why get so angry.
It does when you bet your life savings on whether they make the spread or not.
But did you see that ludicrous display?
What was Wenger thinking sending Walcott on that early?
The thing about Arsenal is they always try to walk it in.
You're just mad because the management of the team that's currently associated with the city nearest me is proving better at hiring a disparate group of athletes and support staff than the management of the team that's currently associated with the city nearest you.
As a 49er fan, this brings me great joy. Enough to fix a tv.
I read some news article that pretty much described this whole situation, I’m not sure if they’re the same tho…
That wasn’t even called for. It’s just a game. It’s not worth getting mad or breaking someone’s stuff over.
never root for the cowgirls and youll never have this problem
As a European I'd probably say wtf, but I did spend a year in Texas during a high school exchange, and I can confirm yes this is normal texan behaviour lol
