I was hoping we could have seen the extended mixes with the release of the full EP. Now the only scenario I can see them being released is in some compilation like the Year Book.
Unless they signed some kind of exclusivity deal with Beatport and in a month we could see something like "Tranquility Base EP - Vol 1 (Extended Mixes) on the release schedule.
I wonder if there was really any fan who didn't get mad at this decision :/

They are doing exactly this. It's not something new for Anjuna. HQ has signed extended exclusivity agreements with beatport before, many a times. I've got evidence dating back to 2019 that they were doing Beatport Exclusive extendeds. Usually the extended mix of the track is beatport exclusive for 2 weeks. Then it gets released to streaming / their own music store.
I think the main issue people are having (myself included) is how badly the edits were edited. Edit is the incorrect term, [they were cut down HUGELY and they only slightly resemble the original mix. (Extended mix on top, Edit on the bottom. Sync'd up)](https://i.imgur.com/dJd3wRa.png) The resulting streaming release is a terrible shame compared to the original mixes. But Tiktok and A.D.D. is king nowadays with streaming, so they've got to keep the tracks snappy and quick đ.
So I do think that HQ does need to reflect on what went down here. Their listeners didn't *really* have a problem with beatport exclusive extended mixes, for 2 weeks, it's just business after all. Their listeners also don't mind edits of the original tracks to make them more streaming and attention span friendly. But they made a mistake with this release where they over hatchet edited the song AND made it beatport exclusive so general listeners can't hear the original version.
Maybe /u/garethjones1350 Can give more insight. I don't ever ping HQ staffers. But there's been a lot of discussion about these edits over the past weeks. With no real comment from HQ. Other than "extendeds will come to streaming soon".
Donât Beatport exclusives explicitly say âBeatport exclusiveâ on the album listing? I know theyâve done them before but donât think thatâs the case here. Extended mixes were available the day of release on their own music store. The mixed extended versions are available on YouTube as well if you donât wanna pay for the tracks.

[They do, you're correct](https://i.imgur.com/O9MID1W.png)
I don't think the extended versions are on YouTube just yet. Only one i could find was a 3rd party channel uploading a, probably, unlicensed copy.
Guess I hadnât checked the Beatport page since release, but either way this isnât a true exclusive since they are on the Anjuna store.
This is what I was referring to with the âmixed extendedsâ https://youtu.be/qVix6NN0wU4
Ah I read that as "extended mixes" instead of how you wrote it. Yeah. Haha
Also you're correct in remembering the exclusive tag was not there during pre-order period. And the single releases did not have the exclusive tag.
I'm hyper allergic to radio edits and whatever the abominations are that are 2:40-3:40 minutes long. It's the reason I have given them 0 playtime.
4-5 minute radio edits on streaming services instead of extended 7-8 minutes is fine. But I mean c'mon.. 2:41 for VLEKNO? I take longer in the morning to turn off my snooze alarm.
props to those who are willing to buy extended mixes on beatport but what the fuck why not just release every extended mix of every anjuna track on streaming platforms and youtube. like iâm sure thereâs a load of logistics that go into it but like ffs man all we want is just the extended version along with the original mixes simultaneously. why did it become so normalized to have a short cut of a beautiful track. hate how this has happened all across dance music especially anjuna tracks and such.
Agreed. In today's market.. unless you're a DJ, what is the point of buying and downloading a MP3? I'm streaming music from Spotify or Soundcloud to my headphones or JBL box.. who in the world plays mp3s on their phone.
this is so true. it really pisses me off. and donât even get me started on the prestigious people who think they are above the rest of us for buying on beatport
