Yeah the vaulted ceiling with a 4/12 pitch and those windows are consistent with an older mid century ranch style home probably built in the 50s. If i had more photos I’d be able to tell but in my opinion not a basement
- i build homes and do renos
There are definitely windows in basements. Especially if it's a walk-out one. But yeah, the slanted ceiling isn't something you see below ground level so that's a little suspicious

That's a cool way to make a bar. But my biggest issue with this is that it's just so big for the house. Like half the fucking house looks like it's this thing.
If this were like an outdoor/backyard bar, or even at a restaurant, it would be pretty awesome.
Although this is a waste of perfectly good tires it’s actually pretty cool especially for a bar in a jeep enthusiast club.
Edit** for some reason my phone autocorrected jeep to Jew. My partner is a Jew who drives a jeep so maybe that’s why.
I like the idea that the homeowner doesn't particularly care about Jeeps one way or the other, but they just hired a designer who was like "you know what I love???"
Are you 7 feet tall? Those bars are the same height as the ceiling cross beams and a full foot higher than the top of the fridge in the right side of the frame.
Yeah nothing says tacky like a shrine glorifying a product in your own home, why not just let the coke company roof your house so they can advertise too.

basement bar, not kitchen
Does it have a beer winch?
Beer wrench.
Thank You
The window and ceiling make me think it’s not a basement

That’s a badass bar design
Oh my, careful if you have a dog in your house with those tires
With the gas crisis, this was considerably cheaper
This photo has been circulating for ages... Since long before the sky high gas prices. 🤷
r/Heep
Does it have a bunch of lights that aren't actually wired to power?
Nah, it's got a bunch of super bright lights that are running 24/7
I stored car tires in my house one winter. They stink!
Unless you like your kitchen to smell like a tire store.
They kept their 5 years old soul. I bet they have that race car bed in their bedroom.

That'd be cool for a garage bar.

"Jeep the bar the way it is? Do you think he'll notice the typo?" "Nah, there's no way"
There's a former Jalopnik writer and current Autopian editor that needs to know the location of this house.

So dumb and impractical
Why does my bar have an oil leak?
Wow, freak is about the nicest description of a Jeep owner I have ever heard. Usually many more obscenity’s are involved.
Although this is a waste of perfectly good tires it’s actually pretty cool especially for a bar in a jeep enthusiast club. Edit** for some reason my phone autocorrected jeep to Jew. My partner is a Jew who drives a jeep so maybe that’s why.
Jeeps are for people who haven’t heard about Toyotas
Is that a gas stove?
I don't really want it but I want it. I have a friend who would definitely do it and I hope all of those lights are hooked up to a battery.
I like the idea that the homeowner doesn't particularly care about Jeeps one way or the other, but they just hired a designer who was like "you know what I love???"
You wouldn’t understand
Yikes.
Out of your friends, which are you?!
I think ‘Jeep freak’ might be underselling it
Well it would be cool for a man cave, but not a main kitchen.
Not extra enough for me. . .needs to be painted as a Jurrasic Park Jeep imo lol
“My mom died when my kitchen flipped over
It’ll be broken in a month.
How da fuk he got the jeep in there
I’m not sure this counts as “awful design.” This is pretty cool.
It's pretty awful if you like counter space.
Or taste. I'm a car guy and this shit belongs in a garage or a tacky suburban restaurant.
I know a ton of car enthusiasts (not even Jeep people specifically) that would find this awesome.
I'm sure they would, just commenting about the functionality. That bar next to the sink in particular would drive me insane.
I would hit my head on those bars so many times ugh
Are you 7 feet tall? Those bars are the same height as the ceiling cross beams and a full foot higher than the top of the fridge in the right side of the frame.
No, I would hit my head on the vertical bars. Specifically the one to the right of the sink
lol, my bad. I get what you meant now.
Yeah I could see that being annoying.
Yeah but the car people I know tend to have fucking awful taste so…
If you enjoy the aesthetic of a bass pro shop then I guess this is fine
Yup I think this would be cool at a safari themed bar or something but it looks so tacky in a basement
Yeah nothing says tacky like a shrine glorifying a product in your own home, why not just let the coke company roof your house so they can advertise too.
