Because everyone knew your plans and wanted to piss you off just for shits and giggles 😎

Mr_X2017

Huge news this morning. BRN has made a record quarterly revenue of $1.23m! $2B market cap by the way 🤡.

GeoSciFi

So puts on BRN then?

Sea_Abbreviations731

Makes NVX look good with $2.5m and only a $1.2B market cap. 12 month revue is $9m, last year wasn't it $18m? 🤡

nohorncap

how? \*goes to read up\*

paulm1927

Some poor fool (Mercedes?) buying their dev kits and consulting services on how to use their dev kit? Looks to be their only money making option right now.

WowVeryJosh

Don't forget tax schemes/carried losses, grants and long term incentive options. All that and they only got $1.2m

Awesomise

Thanks Obama

Think im gunna stash some money away in ROBO Automation should be a good long term trend from worker shortage, rising wages etc, and looks relatively cheap.

nohorncap

suggest you check out the USA alternative from the same company that is now managing that - globalx. Reason being LIT, which is the usa version of ACDC has higher returns, a better mix, and much more money going into it, so that MER I'm guessing is being used to a better advantage too. buy it through IBKR so save your tendies if you go that way.

AltruisticCurtains

Your AFR Pre-market is here: **ASX to open down as Wall Street turns skittish** Australian shares are set to open down as markets were subdued ahead of the Federal Reserve meeting on Wednesday. ASX futures were down 30 points or -0.4% to 6681 near 4.17 am AEST On Wall St: Dow -0.4% S&P 500 -1.1% Nasdaq -1.7% In New York: BHP -0.1% Rio -1% Atlassian -5.2% Tesla -3.9% Apple -0.7% Amazon -5.1% The local currency -0.2% to 69.38 US cents On bitstamp.net, Bitcoin was down 4.2 per cent to $US20,952.70 at 4.11am AEST. The yield on the US 10-year note was little changed at 2.79%. On Wall Street, indexes fell after Walmart’s profit warning heightened fears in the retail sector that consumers were cutting back on discretionary spending in the face of decades-high inflation. Shares of Walmart slumped 7.7 per cent, while those of Target and Amazon fell over 4 per cent each, with the online retail giant weighing the most on the Nasdaq index. In a sign of rising pressure to shore up profit amid higher costs, Amazon said it would raise fees for delivery and streaming service Prime in Europe by up to 43 per cent a year. Analysts are not expecting huge clarity from the Fed on Wednesday. Ben Emons, global macro strategist with Medley Global Advisors: “Given all the inflation uncertainty, the Fed can’t have specific forward guidance. Powell has to give himself optionality.” Ed Al-Hussainy, a rates strategist at Columbia Threadneedle Investments: “The Fed is very sensitive to inflation, and not very sensitive to growth now. We don’t know if the Fed will pivot and become sensitive to growth again. Is a terminal rate of 3.5 per cent enough to bring down inflation? My answer is that’s a very bold bet.” Michael Cloherty, head of US rates strategy at UBS Group: “The bond market is going to keep chopping around, having likely gotten a little over excited about the Fed easing super-fast in 2023. We need to get deeper into the year before that becomes more clear or not. And we don’t expect to get any real clarity Wednesday from the Fed on where rates are going into next year.” **Today's agenda** Local: CPI Q2 - Headline q/q exp 1.5%; Headline y/y exp 5.8%; Underlying q/q exp 1.3%; Underlying y/y exp 4.5% Overseas data: China industrial profits Jun; Euro zone M3 money supply Jun; US durable goods orders Jun; US pending home sales Jun; FOMC meeting decision (4am AEST); US Federal funds rate exp 2.25% - 2.50% **Market highlights** ASX futures down 30 points or -0.4% to 6681 near 4.17 am AEST AUD -0.2% to 69.38 US cents Bitcoin down 4.2 per cent to $US20,952.70 at 4.11am AEST On Wall St: Dow -0.4% S&P 500 -1.1% Nasdaq -1.7% In New York: BHP -0.1% Rio -1% Atlassian -5.2% Tesla -3.9% Apple -0.7% Amazon -5.1% In Europe: Stoxx 50 -0.8% FTSE flat DAX -0.9% CAC -0.4% Spot gold -0.1% to $US1718.43 /oz at 2.10pm New York time Brent crude -0.2% to $US104.90 a barrel US oil -1.% to $US95.68 a barrel Iron ore -6% to $US112.50 a tonne 2-year yield: US 3.04% Australia 2.67% 5-year yield: US 2.88% Australia 3.13% 10-year yield: US 2.79% Australia 3.33% Germany 0.92% US prices as of 2.10pm in New York **United States** Stocks dropped after paltry economic figures and a weaker outlook from Walmart dragged down industry peers, with Morgan Stanley saying the news is a “potential warning signal” for giant Amazon’s merchandise margins. Economic barometer United Parcel Service slumped as package deliveries fell more than expected. The Nasdaq 100 sank ahead of earnings from Microsoft and Google’s parent Alphabet. Treasury yields fell and the dollar rose. Angelo Kourkafas, investment strategist at Edward Jones: “From the corporate perspective today, what’s driving the red is disappointing guidance from Walmart, which brings into question the resiliency of earnings. We’ve been talking to our clients about earnings estimates and how, even though we don’t expect a deep recession, we think that earnings estimates are elevated given the challenging macroeconomic backdrop.” Jeffrey Halley, senior market analyst, Asia Pacific, OANDA: “I suspect it will be Meta’s results tomorrow that really set the tone. As Meta found out earlier in the year, stock markets are a harsh mistress now if the pandemic-derived growth fantasies can’t be maintained. The same fate surely awaits \[Alphabet, Meta and Amazon\], and Apple this week is that the fairy-tale hits a brick wall. Either way, we are unlikely to see a Wall Street session this week as quiet as the one overnight. Canadian e-commerce firm Shopify will cut about 10 per cent of its workforce Tuesday, as boss Tobi Lutke acknowledged the company’s decision to expand rapidly coming out of the pandemic didn’t pay off. The move will eliminate about 1000 jobs out of 10,000 or so total employees at Shopify. The stock tumbled as much as 17 per cent to $US30.55, 3M Co. plans to spin off its multibillion-dollar health-care operations, a move that could leave the manufacturer flush with cash as it copes with shifting economic currents that have sapped its profits. **Europe** The FTSE 100 was flat at close after rising as much as 0.8 per cent in early trading, with Shell and miner Glencore among the top boosts as commodity prices climbed on the back of a softening dollar. Unilever shares rose 2.9 per cent to their highest in more than seven months after the consumer giant raised its full-year sales guidance as it hiked prices to counter soaring costs. “With the cost of living soaring, consumers are really having to make that choice around where they spend their pound/euro/dollar,” said Nicola Morgan-Brownsell, fund manager at Legal & General Investment Management. “The majority will have to be on maintaining the basics in life.” Weighing on the benchmark index, Vodafone fell 5.2 per cent after UBS and JP Morgan cut the telecom operator’s target price. Data on Monday showed Europe’s biggest economy, Germany, was likely on the cusp of a recession. German shares have fallen 17.6 per cent for the year, underperforming a broader pan-European STOXX 600 index which is down 12.6 per cent. Italian shares have lost more than 20 per cent with a domestic political crisis adding to woes. Electricity prices surged to records as Russia tightened its grip on European energy markets. Power contracts rose 11 per cent in Germany and 5.5 per cent in France. **Commodities** Oil swung in a thin trading session, brought down by broader markets that are bracing for an aggressive rate hike from the Federal Reserve. West Texas Intermediate traded near $US96, erasing gains of as much as 2.4 per cent.

AusFarmer

So the US went down purely off Microsoft and Alphabet not realising their figures when they thought they would so the US lowered its figure expectation for their quarterly earnings.. give me a break

kervio

apparently also SNAP reporting lower earnings was a factor, which totally makes sense because a tonne of people totally use snapchat for everything, and it's a very important and useful tool that is definitely not just about sending randoms pics of your butthole.

AltruisticCurtains

And both stocks are looking very green in the aftermarket with NASDAQ currently leading the green for US futures. The US markets are a circus.

quiksilveraus

Yeah... there's a lot of crazy shit going on the moment - especially the new definition of "recession - so that the majority of people don't panic. If the media gave detailed, in depth analysis about the economy each night on the 6 o'clock news, a) people would probably be bored shitless, or b) people would be scared shitless. Instead lets just re-define everything to paint a happy picture. It's fuckin nuts.

maybethough

Market seems to be divided between "we're fucked, Walmart says people not buying enough t-shirts, can only afford food" and "lol Walmart blaming macro instead of admitting they ordered too many shitty t-shirts during covid"

AltruisticCurtains

Over in the US: * US Jun New Home Sales -8.1% To 590K; Consensus 660K >\*US Jun New Home Sales Supply At 9.3 Months * The Conference Board Consumer Confidence Index® decreased in July, following a larger decline in June. The Index now stands at 95.7 (1985=100), down 2.7 points from 98.4 in June.

quiksilveraus

Don't worry: they will just re-define what "negative growth", "shrink" and "decrease" mean and everything will be fine. The US Gov and is a fucking cesspool.

AltruisticCurtains

Well, one thing's for sure, if they need to redefine what recession means very shortly before GDP is released, we can be comfortable that we've been given advance notice that the US is definitely in a recession. To be confirmed at 10.30pm tomorrow night.

quiksilveraus

Yeah you are right. Official Fed predictions of Q2 negative growth came out weeks ago. The writing has been on the wall for weeks, if not months. The population is being shown a turd that the US Gov has attempted to polish. I am certainly glad I don't live in the US at the moment. Praying that China, SE Asia or anyone really continues to buy Australian coal and iron ore so we don't get fucked as hard as everyone else like in '08-'09.

Anyone got advice for swing trading for wages? Kind of need a fucking holiday but need cash to fund it. Don't want to sell my strong long term holds bbbuttt I'm thinking to possibly sell say 50% on negative MA swings, skim off some profits then buy back in when MA then positive again? Good or bad idea? Or pick out Lambo colour TONIGHT?

bluelakers

I mean if you feel confident in it you could write some covered calls.

Reckon you're better off with that kinky idea of yours on onlyfans. Know anyone who's swing/day traded a holiday? Only person I know of is longhorncap, and that's from some serious doing: https://twitter.com/longhorncapital

It's about time you gave your namesake a shoutout

nohorncap

yes, hello: shoutout to longhorn capital, who has made over a mill day trading. yay me if I make better than bank interest over a year.

SatansFriendlyCat

It's a great way to risk a lot for little return. Consider, too, that you're sacrificing your CGT discount when you flog something that has been (or was intended to be) a long term hold, so you're behind from the moment you sell, and whatever gains you make are offset by this additional CGT. So you better win big.. which means trying for bigger swings, which means bigger risks and then the temptation to go chasing losses and maaaaan if you wanna swing trade, have fun, but consider having a ring-fenced parcel of money for it which doesn't interfere with your ordinary portfolio.

nohorncap

I'm a tad confused re: why you need a scottish blanket from mongolian sheep in australia... are you after a family tartan, perhaps? "Is it treating myself or is it the first step towards nursing home life?" One could argue that many a luxury good is both, so if it's something you \*really\* want, knock your fine self out. I'd check out australian blankets - onkaparinga is one that folk froth at the mouth over, and guessing [there's a few options to go through](https://www.google.com/search?q=buy+tartan+wool+blanket+australia).

Can someone explain to a smooth brain ape like me how PSC is paying a 79c dividend when it’s a $1 stock. Ex date is tomorrow.

kakapo1204

Doing a capital return. PSC sold their mine tenement for $387M or something like that. Management are returning that to shareholders 79c per share. But now PSC won’t have that project and will lose ~the same value in market cap. You’ll see PSC fall some 80/90 cents ex div date.

poptartape

Equally confused

This_Is_So_Confusing

Thoughts on GRRs quarter results today and their 10% fall. Overall costs are up but tonnage sale prices are lower. https://cdn-api.markitdigital.com/apiman-gateway/ASX/asx-research/1.0/file/2924-02545420-3A597811?access_token=83ff96335c2d45a094df02a206a39ff4

kervio

The lower price received was priced in, the higher costs was not. Bit of a cost blow out, and we need to see why, it seems like maybe energy costs for making pellets or mining worker wage increases. Profit still looks to be pretty decent on the half, something like 7 or 8c per share (guess only). And that's with the weak march quarter where they do maintenance.

This_Is_So_Confusing

Thanks. I think their profit margin in is the 40+% so they can definitely absorb it. I guess the increase in manufacture costs are something we need to get used to at the moment.

Is this website accurate https://au.jobted.com/salary I looked at my own industry and the numbers seem very low (especially with the current labour skills shortage)

AureusStone

So far off correct. They say they are getting their data from the ABS, but I have my doubts. Look at the Engineer section. Not a chance in hell you are going to find an Aerospace Engineer happy to work for $83800.

shitredditsays01

Either they are selecting juniors, part time staff or the lowest range from the data available. It's not just one or two fields, it's multiple professions that seem to have very off numbers.

Scale as in size? Like, you’re asking this question 1/10th as big as you normally are but you’re all in the correct proportions?

Mr_X2017

Picture this: we are face to face, holding hands. It's hot and humid, things are happening. I'm hard, you're hard - all very sensual and natural. Tell me about the size. #wot

Preparing to say good-bye for a while unless BRK can 6 bag in the next 3 days.

Wait, no, scratch that last bit.

Known_Signature7341

Stockholm innit? This Helsinki one sounds next level though!

TheRubyKnife

You are definitely correct, but in this case it's a Die Hard reference
