Which Characters Are Coming Back to Life for the Spider-Man Dead No More Event?

A while back, Marvel Comics released a cryptic photo with the words “Dead No More” written on them. This sparked mass confusion, followed by rampant speculation and numerous fan theories. Eventually, it was revealed that this would be a new event in Dan Slott’s “The Amazing Spider-man” run. Be aware, the following text contains spoilers, so don’t keep reading if you don’t want things spoiled.

‘Dead No More’ is a Spider event unlike any Spider event that we’ve done in that we’re going to the graves, we’re facing Peter Parker’s greatest fears and failures head on,” said Slott during an interview with Comic Book Resources.

The story will deal with Peter’s past that has come back to haunt him. More precisely, three major deaths from the Spider-Man lore will be somewhat undone: Uncle Ben, Captain Stacy, and Gwen Stacy. Slott added that the story has been planned for quite a while and is sure to be as big as some other amazing Spider-man storylines such as Spider-Island, Spider-Verse, and Ends of the Earth.

The event officially begins later this year but has actually already started as a flip-side to Marvel’s Free Comic Book Day “Captain America #1.” No introduction, no preparation, no anything – Gwen Stacy is alive, though she’s reporting to a mysterious red-suited figure.

Besides struggling with the ghosts of his past in what is bound to be one of the most personal Spider-man stories ever, Peter will also have to battle against Rhino and Kingpin, as well as figure out just who is pulling the strings when it comes to Gwen.

While we’re waiting for October and Dead No More to arrive, a little story titled “Before Dead No More” will arrive in August, focusing on Peter’s company “Parker Industries.” Reportedly, this story won’t feature a major villain, but rather a brand new female Electro and Prowler, one of Dan Slott’s favorite characters.
