What Did You Think of the Season Six Walking Dead Finale?

Spoiler Alert: if you still haven’t seen the season six Walking Dead finale episode, you know the drill – go watch it and then come back and finish reading the article!

The final episode of the sixth season, Last Day on Earth, ended with a huuuuge cliffhanger that won’t be resolved until the next season which starts in October 2016. The fans of the show are dying to find out what happened in the end, as one of the main characters on the show actually dies. We still don’t know who that character is, but there are many rumors. And since the series diverges from the comic book quite a lot, we can’t even really rely on them to find out the identity of the victim.

Showrunner Scott M. Gimple says they anticipated the outcry of the fans about the cliffhanger, yet decided not to resolve it in the final episode. We’re trying to deliver them an experience,” said Gimple. “I suppose it’s good everything is met with skepticism and people are thinking critically and distrusting things put before them. I’d love a little more trust but it’s a good thing for society that people aren’t just trysting things coming across the TV set. It makes the challenge for us to win those angry people back with a great story — and that’s much harder — but that’s the business we’re in. We’re not trying to do the easy thing. … I do want to do right by this audience and I hope to win them back.

Season 7 will deal more with the newest villain, Negan, and his sidekick baseball bat named Lucille. As fans of the comic know, from time to time Lucille has to be fed, and the only question the fans want answered now is whose blood Lucille drank in the season six Walking Dead finale.

If you are also curious about who dies at the hands of Negan, be sure not to miss the start of seventh season of The Walking Dead later this year in October.
