To be honest, I have arachnophobia, but tarantulas never seemed to bother me unless they are wild or the specific tarantula has a hostile nature. It’s kind of like how I would fear a snake in the wild, but a pet snake that trusts people and the owner says it’s okay, I’ve actually ended up holding. I think a big part of my arachnophobia is untrained animals have the ABILITY to bite, and specifically for bugs that can bite, they are small enough to easily hide. That’s really when it kicks in: when I loose sight of the god damn spider! Tarantulas are big enough to not loose sight of them in the same manner as you would another spider. You don’t have thoughts in the back of your head that it might be crawling up your leg or arm.
