UPDATE: Bullets and Amazons Fly in Thrilling 2nd Wonder Woman Trailer

The Wonder Woman movie hits theaters on June 2nd, 2017.

Yesterday, Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins and star Gal Gadot posted a teaser for the release of a new trailer.

Well, the wait is over, and it’s now time to take a second look at this highly anticipated, upcoming superhero movie:

There’s a lot to admire about the trailer, first and foremost that it provides almost all new footage, rather than retreading what we saw with the Comic-Con trailer. Also, it does a pretty good job teasing the action, and plot, without seeming to give everything away. Rumor is that the trailer might play with Doctor Strange tomorrow, which would be great because it’s definitely one that deserves a big screen viewing. The Wonder Woman movie continues to look like a step in the right direction for DC and the DCU.

Fans were stunned, but definitely ecstatic, when DC and Warner Bros. debuted a trailer at SDCC 2016. And unlike many first trailers, it’s definitely not just a teaser. We not only get a good idea of the story, but we also get to see Wonder Woman in tons of action. She uses the Lasso of Truth, rides into battle wielding her Amazonian sword, and deflects bullets and mortars with her shield. Gal Gadot continues to look perfect for the role. Can’t wait for the movie next year in June!

So, just recently, Entertainment Weekly shared the first official look at the upcoming Wonder Woman movie.  And you know what? It’s looking good.

In the third photo, that’s director Patty Jenkins. Here’s what Gal Gadot had to say about working with Jenkins, and the importance of having a female director tell the story:

Working with a woman is a different experience. It feels like the communication is different. We talk about emotions. It’s a story about a girl becoming a woman. I think only a woman, who has been a girl, can be able to tell the story in the right way.

Original Post 4-8-16: Release Date for the New Wonder Woman Movie Bumped Up

And now for some exciting Wonder Woman movie news coming from DC Comics and Warner Brothers – they are making some changes to their upcoming movie lineup after the release of their latest movie, Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice. Don’t fear, though, because these changes are very good. They have decided to release the new Wonder Woman movie (starring Gal Godot in the lead role) sooner than the already announced release date of June 23rd, 2017. However, in order to escape throwing down against the theatrical opening of another potential box office monster, Transformers 5, DC Comics and Warner Brothers have made the decision to give fans the long-awaited movie three weeks earlier, on June 2nd, 2017.

Other DC Movie Release Dates

Additionally, Warner Bros. has added another two release dates to their schedule, on October 5th, 2018 and November 1st, 2019. However, it still remains unknown which movie those could be for. Keep in mind that apart from Suicide Squad, Wonder Woman, and the two-part Justice League movies (which starts shooting this Monday), none of DC’s other upcoming movies – Aquaman, The Flash, Cyborg, and Green Lantern Corps – have a release date. So, these announcements may be related to some of those upcoming movies, or perhaps to something completely unrelated. After all, Ben Affleck has said that he was working on a Batman script and that he would like to have it filmed in the future.

These announcements were made after The Hollywood Reporter issued a story saying that Batman v. Superman might not make it to the $1 billion mark in global box office. For some crazy reason, this is considered some sort of disappointment, considering that the movie wasn’t awful, and it’s made almost $750 million worldwide to date. I’m sure DC and WB hope all these DC movies, including the new Wonder Woman movie, are equally as “disappointing.” Stay tuned for more Wonder Woman movie news.
