This New Warcraft Movie Footage is Getting Us Pumped!

The epic movie based on Blizzard’s amazing MMORPG game World of Warcraft (and some parts of its groundbreaking real-time strategy game Warcraft) was announced back in 2006. It was confirmed back then that it would be a partnership between Legendary Pictures and the game’s developer Blizzard Entertainment. After years of speculation whether it will ever come out or if it was just a ruse, the filming finally began in 2014, and the film is set for release by Universal Pictures on June 10, 2016.

Now, months after the first trailer for the movie, we have been given another look at the universe, through an extended TV spot. This has only sparked more anticipation in fans for the movie to finally come out, after years of waiting. It includes a bunch of new footage, and the movie looks epic. Hopefully, they won’t let us down.

New Extended Spot:

The premise of the movie is as follows: The peaceful realm of Azeroth stands on the brink of war as its civilization faces a fearsome race of invaders: Orc warriors fleeing their dying home to colonize another. As a portal opens to connect the two worlds, one army faces destruction and the other faces extinction. From opposing sides, two heroes are set on a collision course that will decide the fate of their family, their people and their home. So begins a spectacular saga of power and sacrifice in which war has many faces, and everyone fights for something.

Travis Fimmel (Vikings) will play the main role of Sir Anduin Lothar, the lead protagonist for the Alliance; Paula Patton (Déjà vu, Mirrors) is Garona Halforcen, a half human, half orc; Ben Foster (X-Men: The Last Stand) will play Medivh, the current Guardian of Tirisfal; Dominic Cooper (Dracula Untold) will take the role of King Llane Wrynn; and Toby Kebbel will play Durotan, the lead protagonist for the Horde.

The music will be composed by Game of Thrones’ Ramin Djawadi.

This movie looks like a must-see if you are a fan of the game,  a fantasy lover, or just looking for an epic Orc n’ Human throwdown. And really, who isn’t?
