Transformers 5 Set Photos Confirm What We Already Knew

Optimus Prime in the Transformers movies

Transformers 5 Will Have Lots of Epic Explosions

Love them or hate them, the Transformers movies, much like the titular Robots in Disguise, continue to roll out. And while the first three films followed Shia LaBeouf’s Sam Witwicky, the fourth one almost seemed like a reboot, following newcomer Cade Yeager (Mark Wahlberg). However, the stories now appear to be coming together in Transformers: The Last Knight, with Wahlberg being joined by Josh Duhamel and Tyrese Gibson’s characters from the first three movies. Not to mention heavyweight Anthony Hopkins will be joining the cast as well. And one trademark of the Transformers franchise is explosions. Huge, epic explosions. Which, judging from the Transformers 5 set photos Michael Bay is sharing, will be returning for The Last Knight.

Since the filming for Transformers 5 got underway this past May, Bay has been sharing photos from both his Instagram account, and the official Last Knight movie account. These photos have introduced the newest Transformer Squeeks, teased the return of Megatron and showed off the slick new car form of some Transformers.

And now, with Bay’s latest offering from the set, we’re getting a glimpse of the true Bay trademark, the Bay-splosion.

Bay also shared a video of actress Isabella Moner surfing down a destroyed subway car, and a glimpse of a green screen shot being set up.

And though Bay has been good about sharing behind the scenes photos and videos, not much is known about the plot, behind the merging of the casts and the fact that Megatron is returning. But in all seriousness, does the plot actually matter in a Transformers movie? Transformers: The Last Knight is currently set for a June 23, 2017, release date. And for those of you who just can’t get enough, a sixth Transformers movie is already in the works, set for a June 28th, 2019, release. Oh, and to tide you over between films, apparently Bumblebee will be getting his own spin-off movie, slated for a June 8, 2018, release. No word yet on whether Bay will return for either of those movies.

So, what do you think of the Transformers 5 set photos? Are you pumped for, as Bay puts it, some “wicked action“?

Im a bit tired of Michael Bay’s Transformers, I would love to see a live action version that is more faithful to the cartoon designs. Michael should branch out amd quit wasting time on Hasbro, The money is admittedly nice but what a terrible legacy as a film maker to hash out the same film 5 times over…and probably a sixth and a seventh….
