Game of Thrones Season 6 Draws Closer

With just a month before the April 24th premiere of Game of Thrones season 6, we’re getting some new information about the upcoming season. Apparently, there will be a massive land battle in the new episodes though the show’s producers aren’t saying who will be involved in it. Due to the fact that there is no sixth book in the Song of Ice and Fire series yet, (as George R. R. Martin missed his final deadline a couple of months ago) we cannot be certain of the events in season six, and we can only speculate. Please be aware, if you haven’t seen the show or aren’t caught up yet, there are SPOILERS.

As we all know, season 5 ended with some majorly important moments and cliffhangers. Sansa and Theon jump from the top of Ramsay’s castle and their fate in uncertain; Cersei is made to publicly walk naked in front of the angry crowd because of her sins; Arya goes blind (will it be permanent?) and it will be interesting to see how she manages to cope with that; Daenerys is caught by Dothraki horsemen; and perhaps most interesting is the fate of Jon Snow – he is presumably dead, but we’ll see about that.

Now, in the next season, the producers say there will be a HUUUGE battle. “It’s definitely the biggest [action sequence yet],” said Bryan Cogman in an interview with Entertainment Weekly. “We’ve always wanted to get to a place – story-wise and budget-wise and time-wise and resource-wise – where we would be able to do a proper battle, with one army on one side, one army on another side.” So, who will it be between? Our guess is that it is going to be fought in the North. It may be a battle for the taking back of the North from the Boltons, or the fight might be in Meereen. Or, could it be on the Wall? A fight to defend the Kingdoms from the White Walkers? We’ll have to wait and see.

What do you think about this?
