The New DC Rebirth Costumes Aren’t Straying Too Far From The Established Look
As you most likely have already heard, DC is going to relaunch its entire list of ongoing monthly superhero comics (yet again), this time under the name DC Rebirth. Their intention is to rewind the DC Universe to the time prior to the “Flashpoint” storyline (which led us to The New 52), but also to keep some of The New 52 elements. One of the important changes is that many of DC’s titles will move to a bi-monthly release schedule, with a price of $2.99.
The DC Rebirth will start with an 80-page one-shot which will be released on May 25, 2016, which, according to writer Geoff Johns is going to “re-lay the groundwork for DC’s future while celebrating the past and present. It’s not about throwing anything away. It’s quite the opposite.”
One of the things that will change during this event is the costume design for DC’s Holy Trinity (and some others). Take a look at the official sketches scored by Comic Book Resources, which show you the DC Rebirth costume designs for Superman, Wonder Woman, Batman, Aquaman, Green Lantern Jessica Cruz, Super Sons, Harley Quinn and Killer Croc.
Another interesting thing that Rebirth is going to bring us is that all the comics will start at #1 when DC Rebirth launches in June, with the exception of Action Comics and Detective Comics, which will return to their previous numbering – #957 and #934, respectively.
You’ll be pleased to know that many of your beloved comic books will continue after Rebirth, whereas while DC will also be adding some new names to the roster. There are four main categories of comics: the Batman group (comics about Batman and the Bat-family), Superman/Wonder Woman (as well as New Superman, Superwoman, Supergirl, and Trinity), Justice League (also featuring Green Lantern Corps and Teen Titans), and everything else/one-shots.
